Official time in Hong Kong
Hong Kong has a single time zone (Hong Kong Standard Time, UTC+8). The whole territory shares the same time, which is the one shown on the clock on this page.
Hong Kong does not observe daylight saving time: the time is UTC+8 all year round.
The time is calculated using the official IANA time zone database (version 2026.1), the same one used by operating systems and mobile phones, and it is synchronized with our server clock to correct any drift on your device.
How to use the clock
- Check the time: the large clock updates itself every second and also shows the date and the time zone.
- Find any place: type the name of a city or a country in the search box at the top and pick a result.
- Compare times: “Difference from your time” tells you how many hours apart the place is from your current time zone.
- Customize the view: choose the 12- or 24-hour format and whether to show seconds. Your choice, like normal or dark mode, is saved in your browser.
- Build your world clock: on the home page you can add or remove cities from your list; it will be remembered next time.
- Share the result with the Facebook, WhatsApp, X or Telegram buttons, or copy the link.
