Official time in New Zealand
New Zealand has 2 different time zones: UTC+13 (New Zealand Daylight Time), UTC+13:45 (Chatham Daylight Time). The main clock shows the time in Auckland; the table above shows the current time in each zone.
Auckland observes daylight saving time, which is currently in effect. The next change is on Sunday, April 4, 2027: at 03:00 clocks go back 1 h to 02:00 (UTC+12).
The time is calculated using the official IANA time zone database (version 2026.1), the same one used by operating systems and mobile phones, and it is synchronized with our server clock to correct any drift on your device.
How to use the clock
- Check the time: the large clock updates itself every second and also shows the date and the time zone.
- Find any place: type the name of a city or a country in the search box at the top and pick a result.
- Compare times: “Difference from your time” tells you how many hours apart the place is from your current time zone.
- Customize the view: choose the 12- or 24-hour format and whether to show seconds. Your choice, like normal or dark mode, is saved in your browser.
- Build your world clock: on the home page you can add or remove cities from your list; it will be remembered next time.
